Done that, one of our clients had weathered through a challenging situation unscathed. A rail LCL shipment unfortunately was mixed loaded with other cargoes inside the same container, the entire container was ordered to be returned. Our client, as the carrier, held no liability for claims related to the other cargoes inside the same container. Thanks to our client for trusting us in using the HB/L terms designed and regularly updated by SMIC. Based on the useful HB/L terms, we recommended the forwarder terminate the carriage contract and instruct the shipper to retrieve their cargoes at the carriage termination point due to the customs order. We also advised our client how to safely deal with the request from shipper/consignee to re-export their cargoes to avoid unwarranted claims. ![]()
