"Jiu Lian Shan" collision with "Jin Cheng Shan"

Our client was a forwarder that had issued its HBs/L for seven shipments from Hong Kong to Mawei. The carrying vessel “Jiu Lian Shan” sank into the sea together with all the cargoes after the collision. Our client as carrier under its HBs/L received the cargo total loss claims of more than USD300,000.

In the end, we successfully declined all the cargo claims for our client based on the liability exemption provisions as contained in the Hague Visby Rules, and our client did not need to pay anything in this cargo loss claim case.

Fire in Join Leader Godown

There was a fire incident in the above warehouse in Hong Kong leading to all the cargoes and the warehouse were totally damaged. Our client was a forwarder, and it stored its customers’ cargoes in the warehouse.

It received cargo total loss claims of more than USD1,000,000 after the fire incident. In the end, we successfully rejected all the cargo claims for our client based on the Hague Visby Rules and our client’s contract terms, and our client did not need to pay anything in this cargo loss claim case.
