Our Management
SMIC is managed by experienced executives whose careers spanned across ship management, chartering, container liner shipping, air cargo operations for years, before they became insurance practitioners. Their actual transport backgrounds have made easy the mastering of transport insurance required by the transport operators.
Throughout the past 42 years, they have been part of the multi-modal transport industry, advising forwarders, NVOCCs, logistic service providers, depots, terminals, warehouses, liner operators, ship agents on cost-effective passive risk transfer by insurance procurement, and active risk management by improving work procedures, trading documents, claims handling, in the capacity as insurer for 12 years, and after which as insurance brokers.
Augmented by their years of senior management experience in the manager offices of mutual insurance associations, they are also well versed in hull & machinery, protection & indemnity and other marine and transport insurances.
Their blended transport and insurance technical background have made available a set of sought after expert risk management skills rarely found in the insurance industry.
